Conservation of resources is an aspect that is becoming more and more important in the context of climate change.
We had the opportunity to see conservation agriculture practices in action during the visit to the farm of Nelu Gheorghe and his son, Doru Ionuț. Agro Fond Invest farm is one of the pioneers of this approach to agriculture in Romania.
First, we could notice the dynamism of the farm team while observing the innovative equipment, and their adaptation made in collaboration with the representatives of the technology suppliers.
Then, on our field trips, we stopped to discuss in detail the experience and results of several trials of rape seeding in a Lathyrus cover crop.
The last stop was an open-field demonstration of the operation of cover crop termination with a multi-purpose disc chain.
Last but not least, Agro Fond Invest farm showed us a model of sustainability also through its context of knowledge transfer from one farmer generation to another.
